KIKO Perfect Gel swatches and review

Hello! After a little holiday from blogging (and my life in England) I am here to show you KIKO Perfect Gel swatches and review . Similar to the recently reviewed Barry M Sunset Collection (review here) KIKO Perfect Gel system is light sensitive when drying. I didn’t proceed to sit in the dark bathroom this time, but I did wear the polish for 10 days to see if it is as hard-wearing as promised.

KiKO Perfect Gel polishes come in two’s- a colour nail polish and a clear (light activated) top oat. The duo retails at £7.90 which I think is quite reasonable price considering you are getting two polishes. It probably would be better if the colours were available separately too, it just feels unreasonable to be buying a full top coat with every colour polish.

The packaging of the polishes is of high quality and so is the design of the bottles. Brushes are medium flat in size/shape and a thinner end is hidden under the silver square cap. Formulas easy to work with and very fast drying- especially the top coat.

KIKO Milk Mint

Milk Mint is a bright mint polish with creme finish. On the swatches I am wearing three coats of polish with KIKO Perfect Gel top coat. This bright mint colour is something I have been after for a very long time so imagine my excitement when it arrived in the post on the day before my holiday. I instantly KNEW that I wanted to wear it during my holiday. Unfortunately I was too busy to take proper before photos but here’s a blurry phone photo to give you an idea how my nails looked before the holiday.

Oh and sorry for the bad clean up, as I said, I was in a hurry (read plain lazy). Anyway during these 10 days my nails got a lot of battering. I have been cooking, baking, washing up with no gloves and forgot what cuticle oil is. I also managed to break about 4 nails during my holiday :D But after 10 days there was still quite a bit of polish left :D More than I thought there would to be honest.

Polish started peeling on the nails that I naturally use the most (both hand index and middle fingers). They also happen to be very bendy nails which I think made the polish to crack easier. I have to admit that I did peel the right hand index finger polish a bit, because who can survive 10 days without picking on their nail polish!?! Overall I would say it’s not the best result but it’s pretty good for a 10-day wear :)

Here is some proper swacthes of the colour too.

As of stamping they seem to work only on top of lighter colours but they do stamp well. Here’s a fruity example using Orange on top of yellow.

Overall I really like the polishes, especially Milk Mint and the fast drying top coat which has a highly glossy finish. As of the light drying effect I still think it’s a marketing thing because the polish removes easily with normal nail polish remover so it just physically can’t be same as gel.

You can buy KIKO Perfect Gel Duo nail polishes here and there are 18 different shades to choose from.

Thank for checking out my KIKO Perfect Gel swatches and review. xxx
