Oh You Fancy! gel polish

Hello! Tonight I am showing you how I got along with Oh You Fancy! gel polish home kit.

Oh You Fancy! gel polish

Oh You Fancy! gel polish is a new gel polish brand marketed towards home users.

The sale prices start from only £4.99 per bottle (usually £7.99) with free UK mainland delivery.

The Oh You Fancy! gel polish home kit is also sold at a sale price at the moment costing £59.99 compared to the usual £79.99.

The kit consists of: 4 x Gel polishes in colour of your choice, 1 x Top Coat, 1 x Base Coat, 1 x Remover, 1 x Cleanser, 1 x UV Lamp, 1 x Nail File,  Step-By-Step instructions and a pack of cuticle sticks.

First thing I noticed about the polishes was that all of them come in a bottle which is same colour as the polish inside. It’s so nice to see right away which colour is in what bottle!

I also like that the Cleanser and Remover come in 150 ml bottles which is a lot more than in the other home kits I have reviewed. This amount will probably last for a good while for a home user who does few manicures per month.

Whereas the kit seems to have everything you need I noticed the lack of nail wipes which are needed to remove inhibition layer after the final cure of gel polish.

I also noticed that the bottle has a warning which states ‘for professional use only’ which is contradictory with the fact that the polishes are marketed towards home users. Maybe for home users who have gel polish qualification like me? I’d recommend anyone who wants to get into gel polish more seriously to do the training anyway as gel polish application IS different than nail polish application. And you’ll learn about nail anatomy, diseases and other stuff which is rather interesting!

OK, enough rambling for now- lets get to the interesting part and see the colours!

Oh You Fancy! Lost in Paradise

Lost in Paradise is a sky blue gel polish with shimmer finish. On the swatches I am wearing two thin coats with top coat. The colour is beautiful, finish is brush stroke free but there is some visible nail line… I think I should have gone for three coats.

Oh You Fancy! Purple Haze

Purple Haze is a purple gel polish with blue shimmer finish. On the swatches I am wearing three thin coats with top coat. The polish is more purple in real life than on the photos. Really gorgeous and opaque finish.

Oh You Fancy! Te Amo

Te Amo is a very sheer gel polish with pink shimmer finish. On the swatches I am wearing three thin coats with top coat. I rarely wear a colour so sheer on it’s own tbh. I think this polish would be best for layering.

Oh You Fancy! Poisoned Envy

Poisoned Envy is a dark green gel polish with sparkly gold and green shimmer finish. On the swatches I am wearing three thin coats with top coat. Love this one way more than I thought I would love a green! Such a stunning deep green polish.

Overall all the colours are exquisite. I found that I got best results with 3 thin coats.

The gel cures in both UV and LED light which is also good.

I didn’t have much time to test for longevity but wore the first look for about 4 days (might have been 5- who remembers lol!). It was chip free when I removed it. Removal was not bad, I buffed my nails first and then wrapped in cotton pad soaked with Remover for about 15 minutes. The polish didn’t just fall off after 15 minutes so I had to help it a bit with a cuticle stick.

Thanks for checking out my Oh You Fancy! gel polish swatches and review! xxx

I agree with Robin, Poisoned Envy is beautiful and my favorite too. I think Lost in Paradise would be perfect in the summer.
