Two colour flower tutorial

Hello! Today I am showing you a two colour flower tutorial and a swatch of Morgan Taylor New Year, New Blue.

Morgan Taylor New Year, New Blue

New Year, New Blue is a dark navy blue polish with a shimmer finish. It is from Morgan Talylor’s 2014 Holiday collection called Home for the Holidays (see two other polishes from that collection reviewed here). I managed to grab it for about £3 at my local Sally’s as they had a big sale going on (usually priced at £10.99!).

On the swatches I am wearing two coats with no top coat. The formula was great, so was the drying time. It being a blue polish I was worried about the staining but I just removed it after wearing it since yesterday and there was no staining at all. Removal was also very easy.

A new thing I am adding to my review’s this year is a rating from 1 to 10. I would rate this polish 10 as it was really quite perfect- great opacity, drying time, removal etc. So yeah… I am starting the rating system on a very positive note lol.

I learned this technique ages ago when I attended a nail art course at TNBL* but haven’t really practised it a lot. It’s actually very simple and produces lovely results.

For the two colour flower look I used the following products:

  • Morgan Taylor New Year, New Blue
  • Reeves acrylic paint in Titanium White
  • Hobbycraft acrylic paint in Violet Deep
  • Mixture of green, yellow and white acrylic paint
  • Kolinsky nail art brush size 2*
  • Dotting tool
  • Poshe fast dry top coat

Please see the video below to see how I created the design.

I hope the video was clear enough and my voice didn’t scare you off :D This is my very first video with a voice-over so any feedback would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks for reading/watching! xxx
