Essence Out of Space Stories Collection is a new-ish collection by Essence Cosmetics.
Essence polishes are available at Wilko stores here in the UK. One of my favourite things about Essence polishes are the cheap prices. Polishes are priced at £1.60 and the more ‘expensive’ ones are usually about £2. While not as cheap as the Primark polishes reviewed earlier in the week, they sure do come with a purse friendly price tag. Essence Out of Space Stories Collection polishes retail at £2 each.
Essence Out of Space Stories Collection review
First of all, Essence Out of Space Stories Collection consists of 7 polishes with varied finishes. Most of the polishes are opaque in two simple coats. The formulas applied with no issues, but I did not measure the drying time and therefore I am unable to comment on that. Furthermore, the lovely sturdy semi – flat brushes made the application exceptionally easy.
Essence Outta Space is the Place
This is a very light pink, even white polish full of green pearly shimmer. On the swatches I am wearing two coats with top coat.
Essence Across the Universe
This is a lilac duo chrome polish with pearl finish. On the swatches I am wearing two coats with top coat.
This polish is just a bit too dull for my liking. Yet, even over black this polish remains dull, so no hope here. Hence, I am not too impressed with the duo chrome of this polish. As a result it remains my least favourite from this collection.
Essence Space Glam
Now this is a beauty! This fuchsia/lilac polish is packed with golden flakes. On the swatches I am wearing two coats with top coat.
It looks a bit more lilac and less fuchsia in real life, it really depends on the angle you look at it. While it seemed like the most popular polish at the store (I managed to grab the last on on the shelf), it wasn’t my most favourite from them all.
Essence Beam Me Up!
Beam Me Up! Is a bright fuchsia polish with holographic finish. On the swatches I am wearing two coats with top coat.
It is not the most intense holographic polish out there, but it sure is great for £2. Probably the cheapest holographic polish available from the high street.
Essence Intergalactic Adventure
Another duo chrome in the collection. On the swatches I am wearing two coats with top coat.
Opposite to Across the Universe, this beauty shows the duo chrome a lot better. Almost my favourite polish from the collection :)
Essence We Will Spock You!
Another holographic beauty. Pretty basic colour wise, but probably a must have if your collection lacks holographic polishes. Seems like holographic polishes have become more available, it is great to see holographic polishes being more available on the high street.
Essence 1000 Light Years Away
Finally, my star buy of the collection. So, this polish is a black polish full of smaller and larger holographic glitter particles. On the swatches I am wearing two coats with top coat.
Probably not the most unique polish featured in my blog, yet it is so beautiful.
I think this as a fab little collection of galaxy inspired polishes. I thinks some nail art on top of the polishes would look just grand, I have to try it soon :)
Let me know which one is your favourite in the comments :) xxx
