Cirque Colors Metropolis Collection: January

By on December 28, 2014 in Press Sample , Reviews , Swatches

Hello! Today I am showing you swatches of Cirque Colors Metropolis Collection January polishes.

Cirque Colors Metropolis Collection: January

The Metropolis Collection is a monthly release series of creme-finished lacquers centred around New York City. January polishes are called Midnight Cowboy and Empire State of Mind. They will be available at Cirque Colors on 2nd of January and cost about £8.40 each. There will be also the final restock of Mirror Mirror (swatched here) so grab it while you can!

Cirque Colors Midnight Cowboy

Midnight Cowboy is a dark blue polish with creme finish. On the swatches I am wearing two coats with no top coat. The formula was lovely and had a very pleasant smell. My pet peeve are polishes that have disgusting smell so this one get’s extra bonus points for the pleasant smell :) Drying time was medium, not the fastest but most certainly not slow either.

Cirque Colors Empire State of Mind

Empire State of Mind is a dark cherry red polish with creme finish. On the swatches I am wearing two coats with no top coat. Formula very similar to Midnight Cowboy.

Overall both of the January polishes are gorgeous cremes that would please any darker colour lover :)

Cirque Colors Metropolis Collection: September

Since I am writing about the Metropolitan Collection I have another polish from earlier this year to show. This one is called NYFW and it was polish of the month in September and the very first polish of the whole collection! I thought it would be nice to show another blue from the collection as a comparison as Midnight Cowboy is blue as well. But they are totally different as you can see from the photos below.

Cirque Colors NYFW

NYFW is a bright dark blue polish with creme finish. On the swatches I am wearing two coats with no top coat. The polish applies smooth and dried in medium time. I don’t recall this polish staining my nails when I swatched it which sometimes happens with blue polishes.

It has been a struggle to fins a good blue but this baby seems to thick all the boxes- it doesn’t have, what I call, a blue polish stink (so many blue polishes have a weird smell have you ever noticed? I’m pointing at

Midnight Cowboy is so so pretty. I really need a nice dark blue polish that isn’t too dark like that :)
