Welcome to my blog

Chanel Paradoxal

Ola! Welcome to another day of the week and another blog post. Today I am showing you another one of my vintage nail polish beauties – Chanel Paradoxal.

Chanel Paradoxal review

Paradoxal was released in autumn 2010 as part of Chanel‘s Fall collection. It is a dark mud coloured polish with purple pearl finish.

Colour wise this polish really is unique. On the swatches I am wearing two coats with a layer of top coat. I love how the colour of the base compliments the purple shimmer. I do wish that the shimmer was more evident in real life. In particular, you have to look at the polish from almost macro distance to enjoy it.

Regardless of the age of the polish, the formula was great. Chanel polishes have a slim brush which I don’t love, but don’t hate either.

Due to the vintage nature of this polish, it is not currently available, however, it is worth keeping an eye on eBay as it can pop up there at times.

To my surprise, there is a very similar nail polish in my collection. And the almost-dupe is a lot cheaper!

Primark‘s PS… in Grape is also a mud colour polish with purple pearl finish. Whereas both look very similar on the nail, Primark’s base colour is slightly lighter and the shimmer is a shade more magenta.

Admittedly, I have found that Primark’s nail polishes come and go with seasons. I am not confident that this shade will be available after we are released from the lock down (especially as it has been months since I got it).

Primark PS… Grape (left) and Chanel Paradox (right). I know I wore Grape some time ago without taking pictures, admittedly I am regretting not swatching this beauty properly.

Thank you for reading! xxxx
