Models Own Icing Collection

Hello! It’s been another busy week but finally I have had the chance to swatch Models Own Icing Collection, a collection consisting five new pastel colours in limited edition frosted bottles.

Models Own Pink Icing

Pink Icing is a baby pink polish with creme finish. On the swatches I am wearing three coats of polish with top coat. Not the most exciting colour considering there has been a few baby pink polishes in MO collections such as the Pink Veneer (swatched here) , Paradise Pink (swatched here) and Strawberry Tart (swatch here). The formula was not the best leaving a slightly streaky finish but a coat of fast dry top coat saved the day. Overall I rate it 4.

Models Own Peach Icing

Peach Icing is a light peach coloured polish with creme finish. On the swatches I am wearing two coats of polish with top coat. Another not too exciting colour for me, there was a similar pastel peach shade in the HyperGel collection released just last month called Long Beach Peach (swatched here). Formula exactly the same as Pink Icing but opaque in just two coats and therefore I’m rating it 5.

Models Own Nude Icing

Nude Icing is a beige coloured polish with creme finish. On the swatches I am wearing two coats of polish with top coat. A new beautiful nude shade which just perfectly matches my skin tone. The colour is also very ‘in’ right now. Well done, looks like the collection is starting to pick up lol. 10 out of 10 :)

Models Own Mint Icing

Mint Icing is a bright mint coloured polish with creme finish. On the swatches I am wearing two coats of polish with top coat. Good formula and beautiful colour, another perfect 10.

Models Own Lilac Icing

Lilac Icing is a bright lilac coloured polish with creme finish. On the swatches I am wearing two coats of polish with top coat. Ths is truly a stunning colour, a lilac that is pastel and neon at the same time. The formula is also flawless. And the colour, so pretty… oh I already mentioned it lol but it really is a stunner. If I would have to choose a polish to wear for the whole month I would wear Lilac Icing. 10 out of 10 and it also stamps well!

If I would have to choose two polishes I would have to wear for the whole month I would chose Lilac icing and Mint Icing, they are just perfect together. So spring-y and pastel-y and dream-y.

For the stamping I used Flowers 01 plate and Creative Stamper (available here). There’s also a quick stamping tutorial on my IG profile.

Here’s how the polishes compare with other similar Models Own colours.

Overall I am very satisfied with the Models Own Icing Collection, I think Lilac Icing and Mint Icing and possibly Nude icing are total Spring 2015 must haves. You can buy the polishes from www.modelsownit.com for £4.99 each or from UK Models Own Bottleshops and Superdrug Stores (from 11th of March).

Thanks for reading! xxx
