Color Club Summer of ’69 Collection

Hello! Welcome to August! Can you believe that the summer is almost over :( It’s been a lovely summer and therefore I am not too sad that it is approaching it’s end. I am still not over summer colours and today I have swatched Color Club Summer of ’69 Collection.

Color Club Summer of ’69 Collection review

Color Club Summer of ’69 Collection is the summer 2018 by Color Club.

Now Color Club is a brand that has been popular as they were the first mainstream brand to release the most holographic holo polishes ever. Since then, there haven’t been any popular releases in my opinion. Looks like the last time I even swatched a Color Club nail polish was in 2014! Check my old swatch out here.

Color Club Summer of ’69 Collection consists of six colour changing polishes with creme finishes. Quality wise the polishes are decent, certainly not the best formulas I have ever used, but very workable. Most polishes were opaque in two thicker coats, lightest shade took three however.

So, I do have to apologise as these aren’t the best swatches. I took them on what felt the hottest day of the year and even with my hands deep in ice water, it was difficult to capture them in their cold state. You know I tried my best :)

Color Club Festival Fun

Festival Fun is a yellow polish with neon yellow undertones that transitions into an orange polish in cold. This is actually my least favourite polish from this collection. The neon-ish yellow and dull orange just doesn’t match very well.

I did wear it on my accent finger with some nail art (see a picture I uploaded on Instagram here). I can tell you the transition was very evident which was kinda fun.

On the swatches I am wearing three coats of polish with top coat.

Color Club Flower Child

Flower Child is a neon pink creme polish that transitions into a red polish when cold.

This is such a beautiful polish, in both warm and cold state. The transition isn’t super noticeable, but I still love it.

On the swatches I am wearing two coats of polish with top coat.

Color Club Tie Die Oh My!

Tie Die Oh My! is a fuchsia polish that transitions into purple when cold.

This is my second favourite from the bunch, such a beaut!

On the swatches I am wearing two coats of polish with top coat.

Color Club Ready to Rock

Ready to Rock is a purple polish that transitions from violet purple to blueish-purple in cold.

On the swatches I am wearing two coats of polish with top coat.

Color Club Feelin’ Free

Feelin’ Free is a blue creme polish that transitions from lighter blue to a gorgeous royal blue.

The transition again isn’t super evident, but quite pretty indeed. Probably nice polish for the winter months me thinks!

On the swatches I am wearing two coats of polish with top coat.

Color Club Traffic Jammin’

Traffic Jammin’ is a blue creme polish that turns into a teal polish when cold.

This polish was a bit of a difficult one to capture, I think it would look a lot better if my hands were proper cold, but the ice water was just not doing it.

On the swatches I am wearing two coats of polish with top coat.

I purchased these polishes from Sally’s in store on a VAT free day meaning I managed to grab them for a whopping £3.99 each. Not bad ;)
